The Secular Yeshiva in Jerusalem, in collaboration with the Sapir Center for Jewish Culture and Education, has created an innovative Jewish-Israeli calendar. This unique calendar integrates key dates from Israeli culture—birth and passing anniversaries of influential figures in Hebrew and Jewish thought—alongside pivotal historical events.
For generations, the Jewish and Israeli calendar has been a powerful tool for shaping identity. Its events connect us to history and culture while often taking on new meaning through contemporary interpretation.
Our vision is to publish an annual calendar, each year focusing on a significant theme, featuring carefully selected dates, texts, and illustrations. This project reimagines the intersection of art, design, and Jewish heritage, fostering a dynamic and meaningful connection to Jewish culture. The result is a new kind of community, united by engagement with the rhythm of the Jewish year.
The 5785 (2024-2025) edition celebrates the revolutionary spirit that has allowed Jewish culture to adapt, evolve, and thrive throughout history.
Each month highlights two revolutionaries—figures from diverse backgrounds and disciplines—who have reshaped Jewish and Hebrew culture in their own way. Alongside traditional Jewish calendar events, the calendar features illustrations and narratives that bring their stories and impact to life.
The calendar is accompanied by a series of conceptual illustrations by artist Yaniv Rotem, who led a process of study and creative interpretation. Each month’s illustration offers a fresh visual perspective on that month’s featured revolutionaries and their transformative ideas.

Published in the wake of the Iron Swords War, this calendar seeks to affirm the enduring power of Jewish culture to adapt, repair, and inspire. It has been met with great enthusiasm, and we are committed to establishing an ongoing tradition of calendars that explore and celebrate Jewish heritage in new and thought-provoking ways.
We aspire to establish an ongoing tradition of creating calendars of this kind.
