The ‘Ruach Erev’ initiative is the result of collaboration between the Sapir Center and the Jerusalem Secular Yeshiva (JSY) that encouraged the yeshiva graduates to initiate creative learning projects. One of the leading projects is that of Segev Feinstein – Ruach Erev”: sessions of study and experimentation in a range of diverse viewpoints on Jewish and universal culture – psychoanalysis, Jewish thought, cinema, literature, and philosophy.
The program’s thirteen sessions are built in a Beit Midrash-like style and combine study of the human spirit and physical experimentation in yoga, movement, meditation, and others.
The program’s goal is to cultivate in its graduates a worldview that draws inspiration from a range of sources from traditional and renewing Jewish culture. Furthermore, the program views the integration of these sources as a fundamental, connecting and horizon-expanding principle out of a desire for these perceptions to accompany them in their professional and social endeavor.
